The Spaceland Swoop Park to get dedicated aircraft

The Spaceland Swoop Park is getting a Cessna 206 aircraft this season to be used by the swoop park. The aircraft holds 6 canopy pilots and can be run with much fewer minimums then the rest of Spaceland's aircraft which include three twin otters, two caravans and a skyvan! The 206 will allow us to schedule more swoop training and events at the park without the need of large crowds and big aircraft.

2009 Swoop Week at the US National Championships

The Spaceland Swoop Park hosted the 2009 Swoop Week Championships which included the USPA National Canopy Piloting Championships. The CPC and USPA Nationals went off without any major issues but the weather did not allow the time to complete the Pro Swooping Tour championships. The Swoop Park looks forward to the 2010 events which once again plays host to the USPA National Canopy Piloting Championships. For more news & results check out www.canopypiloting.com

We are now scheduling training at the Swoop Park™. You can now schedule your own indiviual training at the park, join an existing class/camp or compete at one of our events. There is a lot going on the Aug 17th-30th with Freestyle photo shoot, a JVX training camp and more. We have people coming from as far as Europe to train at the new Swoop Park™ over a three week period! Remember, the Spaceland Swoop Park™ is not just a empty swoop pond. It has full logistical support with all the courses set up for you all the time! You don't have to get in the water to set anything up with with awesome facilities!

The Spaceland Swoop Park™ pond is full and active

The swoop pond has been full for weeks and canopy pilots have been swooping it on a regular basis. The new courses have not arrived yet but the locals have found some inflatable gates they have been using to hold them over. The new swoop pond can be pretty intimidating when your setting up from above. The next steps at the park are getting the large recirculation pumps (fountains) for the pond and the swoop park building. Shortly thereafter we will be installing all the courses and setting up the hay bail barrier.

Swoopers can schedule coaching at the Swoop Park™ with an instructor from the Canopy Piloting School™. Students can schedule their intermediate, advanced or pro level training through the school's website online. The school specializes in competition swooping and those needing special or elite training in canopy piloting.

The Nation's largest swoop pond

Skydive Spaceland has built the Nation's largest swoop pond at 500ft X 250ft! Last year Swoop Week was held on a swoop pond that was only 370 X 180ft. The Swoop Pond at Skydive Spaceland is a massive man made pond that pond is three foot deep with tapered edges and a sandy landing area. The pond features built in recirculation pumps that act as fountains keeping the water algae clean.

The Swoop Park has its on loading area, RV park, camping area, Bar B Que grills, packing area and fixed power. The Swoop Park is set up so individuals or teams can train at the Swoop Park without ever leaving the area. There is no need to ride a truck across the drop zone since everything is conveniently nearby.
